SAINT PETER'S CHURCH

VISIBLE WITNESS

Trinity Place Shelter is a non-sectarian, 10-bed transitional shelter that is open all year to provide LGBTQ youth with a safe place to sleep, eat, and store belongings.  The shelter is located at Trinity Lutheran Church at 100th St. and Amsterdam Avenue.  Members of Saint Peters can help the shelter by signing up as volunteer monitors for a Saturday night and by preparing dinners for the shelter residents on Wednesday nights.

Five members of Saint Peters attended a training session for volunteer monitors on the afternoon of Palm Sunday and we would like to organize another group training session sometime after Easter.  To hear about the training session, you can contact Steve Dubuque or Eric Stenshoel or Michael McKee at keestone@gmail.com .

Dinner volunteers can be groups of up to 5 people.  The dinner hour is from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. every Wednesday. The volunteers can bring cooked food to warm up, put something together in the Trinity kitchen, or even order in.  We would like to get enough people signed up so that we can commit to provide dinners on a monthly basis.
