The Parish Council and various program committees have begun a conversation about a five year vision for Saint Peter's Church.
What things do you think are important to consider in a conversation about Saint Peter's Church: Always Growing, a vision for 2013-2018?

I think we should consider creating an active community service center, whether it's midtown or not .This would be "staffed" by volunteers:
and free to all: tutoring for childen, legal advice could include directing people toward the proper professional, assistance with finding appropriate
medical treatment, running periodic food drives and meeting reasonable needs as they arise. We could start small and go from there.

I would like to see an emphasis on aging in our church community. I know we have the senior center which is wonderful but it is not an initiative of Saint Peter's Church. Saint Peter's could consider a gerontology program educating members and those in the community about elder issues. It could be extremely helpful to those with aging parents to assist them with knowlegpdge and resources. We could have group support where we get together and discuss our experiences. The ever- growing elder population necessitates some focus on this issue, both for our older members and for members with aging parents. A sort of "go to" resource at Saint Peter's relating regarding elder issues.
